PURPOSE:To prevent an image from fogging and becoming irregular for a long period by providing a means which cuts off the supply of a developer after the end of development and stopping driving an electric field curtain after a developer in the middle of conveyance is conveyed and discharged. CONSTITUTION:An opening part 10 is closed fully by a control plate 9 at the end of development to prevent toner from being supplied onto an electric field curtain panel 3. Further, sequence control is so performed that a 3-phase alternating current is applied to electrodes 4 and 4' successively and a switch 12 is turned off after developer is carried out completely from on the electric field curtain panel 3, thereby preventing the toner from being deposited on the electrodes. Thus, a toner supply cut off means is provided and the power source of the electric field curtain is turned off after the developer is removed completely, thereby obtaining a stable image which has neither fog nor irregularity for a long period. |
