PURPOSE:To perform the emergent cut-off of the magnetic field by simultaneously energizing the heater of the permanent current switch and the heater of the superconducting magnet. CONSTITUTION:Connected to a superconducting magnet 4 are a permanent current switch 1 and a protective resistor 3. Electric heaters 2, 6 for heating are provided in the permanent current switch 1 and the superconducting magnet 4 respectively. At the time of excitation or demagnetization, the heater 2 and a power supply 5 are connected to make the permanent current switch normal conducting. At the time of emergent cut-off, the heater 2 and the heater 6 are connected in series to the power supply. Hereupon, the permanent switch 1 and the superconducting magnet 4 quench at substantially the same time and magnetic erasure of the superconducting magnet can repidly be performed, so the safety is improved. |
