The oil platform consists of a hull (1) supported by legs (2, 3) resting on the sea bed. At least one of the platform legs (3) has a transverse cross-section greater than that of the other legs (2) so as to define a space in which the equipment (16) forming the link between the bed and the hull (1) can be housed. The floor of the drilling unit (9) is located on the hull (1) and can be moved above the transverse cross-section of the leg (3) with the greater transverse cross- section. <IMAGE>
