PLATE FORMATION BATH FOR LEAD-ACID BATTERY

PURPOSE:To prevent concentrated current flow in a space between formation bath side wall and plate group side and near the current collector exposed around each plate by installing a current shield to shield current collecting parts of cathode plate and anode plate in a formation bath in which formation is applied to cathode plate and anode palte. CONSTITUTION:A current shield is installed in a formation bath. A current shield 5 is installed between a cathode plate 2 and an anode plate 3 in parallel to them from the inner wall 4 of a formation bath 1 so that a current collecting part 6 around the plate and a current taking-out part 7 are shielded. Even if large current is passed for quick formation, reaction in the formation bath is made uniform, the quantity of electricity for formation is decreased and the quantity of electricity in initial charge after assembly is also decreased.
