PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of the artifact of a restored image by providing an overlap area with an interpolation means when image data obtained by processing overlap area including the boundary of an interesting area by different compression systems is expanded. CONSTITUTION:It is assumed that an area with a prescribed width, which includes the boundary of the interesting area is the overlap area, and the inside the outer boundary of the overlap area and the outside the inner boundary of said area are 1st and 2nd areas. Data obtained by compressing the 1st and 2nd areas by different compression systems is stored in a storage device 17. The compressed data read out of the storage device 17 falls into 1st and 2nd areas, and expanders 23 and 24 expand said data. Among outputs from the expanders 23 and 24, the interpolator 22 interpolates a part corresponding to the overlap area. Thus the occurrence of the artifact of the restored image can be prevented. |
