PURPOSE:To make it possible to stop heating right before a food catches fire by following up the amount of steam generated from an object that is being heated with a sensor and judging the change in the amount of steam and by a set-up that a microcomputer detects by the sensor information and information on the kind of cooking which is inputted from a cooking selection key the timing of ignition for foods by each kind of cooking. CONSTITUTION:When cooking starts with heating, the amount of steam generated from a food changes. When a food is heated to a certain extent, the increase in the amount of generated steam increases rapidly, and after a certain time has passed the steam generation decreases on the contrary and finally the food catches fire. A period of time T1 of cooking taken up to P point at which the steam generation changes and suddenly increases initially is reached is multiplied by a certain constant (K) to obtain a value T2. T2 is estimated to be the cooking time with additional heating Point Q at which heating is stopped is determined by T=T1+(T1XK)+A. Because the constant K is almost constant for the kind of food to be cooked, it is determined when the user depresses a cooking selection key.
