<p>PURPOSE:To improve the stability of the rolling state in the starting state of a looper and the quality of a product by calculating a looper speed reference and main engine speed correction reference according to looper angles until the tension of a rolling material attains a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:An operation command is outputted to a looper speed reference generator 21 and further an operation command is outputted to an main engine speed correction reference generator 22 when the tension detected by a tension detector 7 is smaller than the preset tension. The looper speed reference generator 21 and the main engine speed correction reference generator 22, thereupon, output the looper speed reference NL,ref and the main engine speed correction reference DELTAVref respectively in accordance with the specific equation based on the looper angle theta detected by a looper angle detector 9. The tension is thereby quickly assured from the time when the looper is started up to the point of the time when the looper contacts the material and generates the tension. The operation is thus stabilized.</p> |
