MELTING AND INCINERATING METHOD FOR SLUDGE

PURPOSE:To curtail fuel expense by connecting and providing a hot air dryer to the route of exhaust gas of an incinerator for sludge and introducing dry sludge as one part of sludge to be introduced. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger is provided in succession with an air preheater and a hot air dryer is provided in connection with the heat exchanger. A circulation path 1b passing to the heat exchanger from the dryer is formed and a circulation path 1a passing to the dryer from the heat exchanger is formed. A dehumidifier is interposed on the midway of the circulation path 1b and the potential heat of exhaust gas is utilized as the heat source of the hot air dryer. Dehydrated cake is dried in a steam dryer by using the steam fed from a waste heat boiler as a heat source. Dehydrate cake having 70% water content is introduced into the steam dryer to obtain dry sludge having 20% water content and this dry sludge is made to the sludge to be introduced into a melting furnace. Thereby it can be used as auxiliary fuel and the curtailment of fuel expense can be contrived.
