PURPOSE:To enable the molding of a nonground glass lens large in the central thickness by dropping a glass droplet more than two droplets and successively press-molding it. CONSTITUTION:A first glass gob 28 is dropped on a lower die 29 from the tip of a nozzle 4 by a liquid-drop method and pressed by an upper die 30. A second glass droplet 31 is dropped on the first press-molded glass gob 28 and pressed by an upper die 32 to form the second glass gob 31. A glass lens which has required thickness and is large in the central thickness is manufactured by repeating this method. By such method, the glass lens having the degree of t/R=0.5-3 can be formed.
