PURPOSE:To produce the title glass ceramic product having excellent resistance to wear and impact by forming glass of SiO2-Al2O3-ZnO-TiO2 and ZrO2, etc., having a specified composition, and reheating the glass while controlling the temp. increasing rate at the low-temp. region. CONSTITUTION:Glass consisting, by weight, of 30-65% SiO2, 5-25% Al2O3, 10.5-40% ZnO, 2-15% TiO2 and ZrO2, 0-20% MgO, 0-15% >=1 kind among CaO, SrO, and BaO, 0-5% B2O3, 0-10% >=1 kind among La2O3, Y2O3, Cd2O3, Ta2O5, Nb2O5, and WO3, 0-5% P2O5, 0-5% F, 0-2% SnO2, and 0-1% As2O3 and Sb2O3 is melted and then quenched while being formed. The glass is reheated while controlling the temp. increasing rate at the low-temp. region for forming nuclei to >=2.5 deg.C/min, and further kept at a high-temp. region to form crystal nuclei and then to form crystallites. No trouble such as cracking is caused by this method, and a product having excellent resistance to wear and impact can be obtained.
