PURPOSE:To achieve a good travel feeling by providing means for estimating the travel resistance variable with time and resetting with a desired acceleration to a stored speed under this estimated travel resistance. CONSTITUTION:A memory means 202 stores the speed being employed for constant speed traveling and an estimating means 206 estimates the traveling resistance variable with time. An arithmetic means 207 operates the condition for resetting with a desired acceleration to a stored speed based upon the estimated traveling resistance. Consequently, the traveling resistance has been estimated prior to the function of a resume function so as to perform the feedforward control of the condition of a speed regulation means 203 based upon the newest estimated traveling resistance immediately after function of the resume function. Consequently, even when a normal traveling resistance is subjected to a large disturbance, a constant speed traveling can be realized with a desired acceleration resulting in a good travel feeling.
