PURPOSE:To prevent flaws from occurring by holding the tip section of the continuously fed lengthy photographic paper with a rotary member and a pressing arm to form a loop and rotating the rotary member when the loop becomes the longest so that the tip is received by rollers on the developing machine side. CONSTITUTION:When the tip section P' of the photographic paper P fed by an intermittently rotating advance roller 1 is detected by a sensor 5, the roller 1 is stopped. At this time, a transfer drum 6 has been also stopped. Next, when the transfer of the photographic paper is resumed and the tip section P' enters between the transfer drum 6 and a hold arm 11, the arm 11 is pressed to the transfer drum 6, and the drum 6 is rotated to a preset position and stopped. The photographic paper P droops in a loop shape, and when it becomes the longest, the drum 6 is again resumed rotating. When the tip of the photographic paper P reaches between rollers 19, 20, the pressing by the arm 11 is released, and the tip of the photographic paper is shifted to the rollers 19, 20 on the developing machine side.
