PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which is provided with good lubricity and has a small coefft. of friction, and excellent running stability and durability by using a hydroxyl group-contg. ternary amine or the ester compd. thereof as a lubricating agent of the magnetic recording medium provided with a magnetic layer on a nonmagnetic substrate. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic layer of the magnetic recording medium provided with the magnetic layer on the nonmagnetic substrate holds the hydroxyl group- contg. ternary amine expressed by the formula R3-nN(R'OH)n (where, R, R' are respectively an aliphat. hydrocarbon group of 1-22C, n is 1-3 integer) or the ester compd. thereof. The aliphat. hydrocarbons R(monovalent) and R'(divalent) of the hydroxyl group-contg. ternary amine may respectively be either straight chain or branch and may be either satd. or unsatd. The carbon atoms of the aliphat. hydrocarbon groups R, R' are preferably 1-22. |
