1,215,561. Dialkyl sulphosuccinic acid salts. MELLE BEZONS. 11 March, 1969 [25 March, 1968], No. 12846/69. Heading C2C. Dialkyl sulpho-succinic acid salts are prepared by gradually introducing an aqueous solution of a hydrogen sulphite salt or a metabisulphite salt into the corresponding dialkyl maleate, under stirring, in the presence of a homogenizing agent which maintains the reaction medium in homogeneous form. Preferably a concentrated, freshly prepared aqueous solution of Na, K, ammonium or amine salt of the hydrogen sulphite or metabisulphite is used. The homogenizing agent may be an alcohol or a dialkyl sulphosuccinate identical to the one to be prepared, and is advantageously present in 5-20% by weight with respect to the maleate. An organic diluent such as an alcohol, ether, ester or hydrocarbon may also be present. Amongst the examples di-(2-ethyl hexyl) sodium sulphosuccinate is prepared by gradually adding an aqueous solution of NaHSO 3 over a period of 5 hours to di-(2-ethyl hexyl) maleate with a portion of the final reaction mixture from a previous identical condensation as homogenizer. |
