PURPOSE:To prevent an engine stall when torque-up is instantly ended by storing an engine speed which effects the original maximum torque at the time of torque-up in a memory and comparing this engine speed with an actual engine speed and giving alarm to an operator. CONSTITUTION:Either a first function device 5 for generating a rack position signal which increases and reduces torque along a steady torque curve, or a second function device 6 by which torque is increased and reduced along an increased torque curve close to the steady torque curve and which is used at the time of transient operation, is selected in accordance with an operating condition, and a fuel injection quantity is controlled according to the output of the selected function device. In such a structure, an operating device 14 operates and stores an engine speed which gives the same torque as the maximum torque of the former torque curves at the time of torque-up is provided. And, the output of this operating device 14 is compared with the output of an engine speed detecting part 2 by a comparator 15 and a buzzer is operated in accordance with the compared result.
