PURPOSE:To maintain the reliability by a simple signal processing and to recognize an address by deciding the block of a prescribed address according to the comparison result of the prescribed address and a correction code and the address and the correction code of a reproducing block. CONSTITUTION:The object address supplied through an input terminal 6 is previously encoded by an ECC encoder 7, an error correction code is added and the set of the address and the error correction code is fed to a comparison circuit 5. In the circuit 5, it is simply compared with the set of the address and the error correction code in a reproducing signal obtained from an address reading circuit 3. When they coincide within a prescribed allowable range, it is decided to be the object address and outputted to a terminal 9. In this case, the allowable range and a threshold are made different between the time of a reproduction and the time of a recording and the threshold (b) at the time of recording is made small with respect to the threshold (a) at the time of reproducing the signal by a R/W signal from an input terminal 8. Thereby, the address can be recognized with the reliability maintained in the simple signal processing.
