PURPOSE:To execute the operation of display/change of the internal state of a microprocessor independently of the software instruction by providing a command register, a data register, a status register and a command flag/data flag. CONSTITUTION:A control means 50 checks the content of a command flag 11 at the end of execution of a software instruction and in case of the display commanded, the following control is applied. That is, when a command stored in a command register 10 commands the display of the internal state of a processor 60, the internal state of the processor is set in a data register 20, the content of the command flag 11 is reset and the data flag 12 is set. On the other hand, when the command stored in the command register 10 commands the change of the internal state of the processor 60, the internal state of the processor is changed in response to the content of the data register 20 to reset both the contents of the command flag 11 and the data flag 12.
