<p>PURPOSE:To safely and readily remove protecting groups from a specific amino acid, e.g. tyrosine, etc., or peptide containing the amino acid without emitting bad smell, by using trifluoroacetic acid and a specific benzene derivative, e.g. tri- - pentaalkylbenzene, etc. CONSTITUTION:Protecting groups of an amino acid selected from tyrosine, serine, threonine, lysine and ornithine, a derivative thereof or peptide containing at least one thereof are removed. In the process, trifluoroacetic acid and a benzene derivative expressed by the formula (R<1>-R<3> are lower alkyl; R<4> is H or lower alkyl; R<5> is H, OH or lower alkyl) are used as a deprotecting agent to efficiently, industrially and advantageously remove the protecting groups of carboxyl groups, amino groups or/and hydroxyl groups from the above- mentioned amino acid or peptide under mild condition by simple operation with hardly any accompanying side reaction and without emitting bad smell.</p> |
