<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the size and weight of a rotary head device by providing a notched part in a cylinder arranged above a rotary magnetic rotation surface where a magnetic tape is not loaded, and making a cassette overlap with the rotary magnetic head device opposite the notched part. CONSTITUTION:The rotary head device 2 consists of a lower fixed cylinder 34 and an upper fixed cylinder 35, and plural heads 36 are fitted in the gap across which the two cylinders face each other so that the heads project slightly from the outer peripheral surfaces of the cylinders. A front lid 32 and an internal lid 33 are open and positioned above an aperture 8 while the cassette 6 is loaded, and a tape is covered with the front lid 32 and internal lid 33 while the cassette is unloaded. The upper fixed cylinder 35 of the rotary head device 2 which faces the lids 32 and 33 is notched to form the notched part 35a. Consequently, the rotary head device is allowed to over lap with the cassette aperture as much as possible, so the device is reduced in size.</p> |
