Compositions containing the three main components metal, an organic nitrogen containing compound selected from the groups amines, amine salts and quaternary ammonium compounds containing at least one organic hydrophobic group, and ammonia, ammonium salt or a short-chain amine have very satisfactory properties against wood destroying fungi. The wood preservative compositions are especially satisfactory rot protection agents for wood. The metal in the composition is a so-called preservative metal, suitably copper, tin or zinc and is preferably copper. |
