PURPOSE:To enable a top-of-form position to be securely set without generating a deviation, by providing a platen knob with a switch and initializing a printer each time the operator's fingers are taken off from the platen knob. CONSTITUTION:A platen knob 2 of a printer 1 is provided with a touch sensor 3. A switch 5 is set ON. When the operator turns the platen knob 2 by his fingers to set a top-of-form position of a recording paper, an output from the sensor 3 becomes a low-level signal. When the top-of-form position is set and the operator takes the fingers off from the platen knob 2, the output from the sensor 3 is turned to a high level, and it is inputted to an AND circuit 8. An output from the AND circuit 8 is inverted to a low level, before being inputted to an input terminal 7 of the printer. Accordingly, a deviation of the top-of-form position will not be generated. |
