PURPOSE:to obtain a proper stereoscopic picture by disposing a light source from which light is projected to a display surface backward of respective panels and providing a means for individually adjusting the quantity of light of the respective light sources. CONSTITUTION:Picture information signals corresponding to the parallax of both right and left eyes are outputted from the first and the second image pickup equipments 6, 7, the picture information of the left eye is displayed on the first liquid crystal display panel 10 based on the picture information signals, and the picture information of the right eye is displayed on the second liquid crystal display panel 11. The pictures displayed on both the panels 10, 11 are respectively visually watched by the right and left eyes through eyepieces 14, 15, thereby, an image corresponding to the picture information of the first liquid crystal display panel 10 is formed on a retina 2 through the crystal body 1 of the left eye and the image corresponding to the picture information of the second liquid crystal display panel 11 is formed on a retina 4 through the crystal lens 3 of the right eye and according to the parallaxi of these images, a stereoscopic image is united. Thereby, the proper stereoscopic image can be obtained. |
