PURPOSE:To make the matching by manual operation of binding start time unnecessary by providing the means matching the recessed place of the twisting mechanism receiving an iron wire to the iron wire outlet port of the feeding path for a binding part. CONSTITUTION:A rod 212 is pushed to the front part by a spring 222 and a dog clutch 224 becomes in a locking state at the stand by time of the twisting mechanism of a binding machine. The force rotating a rotary shaft 174 in the opposite direction to the rotary direction of the twisting time is therefore acted on the flange of the dog clutch 224. Since however, the stopper of a position maintaining mechanism 226 is locked to the recessed part of a disk 228 the twisting mechanism 172 is maintained in the position to match the iron wire of an iron wire feeding path and the outlet port of the iron wire at its recessed place 178. In this way, the need of matching the recessed place 178 to the iron wire outlet port of the iron wire feeding path and the iron wire inlet port of the iron wire guide path 200 of a guide 196 is eliminated in case of binding a reinforcing bar.
