PURPOSE:To permit the promotion of aging of expandable particles in the main body of a foaming machine by a method wherein a predetermined amount of expandable thermoplastic resin particles is supplied into the main body of a foaming machine to foam the particles by adding steam while the steam is stopped at a stage where the particles arrive at a predetermined foaming level and the particles are dried by hot air. CONSTITUTION:A predetermined amount of expandable thermoplastic resin particles is supplied into the main body 10 of a foaming machine and steam is supplied through a hot plate 20 by opening a steam supplying valve 60. When expanded particles have achieved a predetermined magnification of foaming and the upper surface thereof has arrived at a level meter 80, the supply of the steam is stopped and, subsequently, air is sent by a fan 91 into an air heater 90 while hot air is supplied to the main body 10 of the foaming machine through a steam chamber 11 and the hot plate 20 to age the expanded particles forcibly. After finishing foaming, a discharging lid 40 is opened to pass the expanded particles through a sieve 71 and, thereafter, send them to a predetermined place through a transporting pipe 73 below a receiving box 70.
