PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium having an optical characteristic uniform over a wide area and excellent in storage stability, by a method wherein a specific dispersant is added to and mixed with an org. substance along with an ultrafine powder to disperse said powder throughout the org. substance and applying the resulting dispersion to a substrate to form a membrane. CONSTITUTION:An ultrafine powder 1 and a dispersant 5 are mixed to adsorb the dispersant 5 by the surface of the ultrafine powder 1 and the resulting mixture is mixed with an org. substance 2 and, further, a catalyst is added to said substance if necessary to be uniformly dispersed therein and the obtained dispersion is applied to a substrate 4 to form a membrane 3. The dispersant 5 used in this case is at least one kind of an acid having a molecular structure having three COOH groups having 10 or more carbon atoms and one OH group or lactone, salt or ester thereof. By the use of this dispersant, because the dispersant is adsorbed by the surfaces of individual particles of the ultrafine powder dispersed in the org. substance, the irregularity of an optical characteristic due to the flocculation or offset dispersion of the ultrafine powder is not generated and the ultrafine powder can be uniformly dispersed in the org. substance. Therefore, the optical characteristic is uniformized and the storage stability of an optical recording medium is enhanced. |
