PURPOSE:To easily manufacture a head with high moisture resistance and high abrasion resistance by jointing heat-treated metallic magnetic cores to cores made of oxide at an gradient angle approximately the same as an azimuth by means of a nonmagnetic body with high melting point. CONSTITUTION:The metallic magnetic cores 53 and 54 being a main core, which are formed from a metallic piece layer forming a gap 70 and heat-treated, are arranged at the gradient angle approximately the same as the azimuth thetawith respect to the oxide magnetic cores 55-58 being a subcore located on both sides. The cores 55-58 and the cores 53 and 54 are jointed on the tape slide surface by the high melting point nonmagnetic body 71. With the arrangement of the cores 53 and 54 the gap 70 can be formed at a right angle on the surfaces of the cores 53 and 54 regardless of the azimuth, thereby easily manufacturing the cores 53 and 54 including core piece laminated layers. Besides the high melting point linkage material can prevent linkage materials from being damaged. Thus the composite magnetic head with high moisture resistance and high abrasion resistance can be easily manufactured.
