PURPOSE:To effectively operate the elasticity of the whole of a locking claw, to engage it with a tooth part without fail and to prevent the damage to the locking claw by engaging both locking claws of a reel stopper at the tip part of both reels at an approximately intermediate position in the up-and-down direction. CONSTITUTION:A cassette enclosure 1 of a tape cassette is composed of an upper half 2 and a lower half 3, a pair of reels 5 and 6 is stored into the enclosure 1 and tooth parts 15 and 16 are respectively formed at the outside of the reels 5 and 6. A freely slidable reel stopper 17 is provided so that the insertion and removal are freely executed to an intermediate part 18 of the reels 5 and 6. A pair of locking claws 22 and 23 having the elasticity provided at the stopper 17 are respectively engaged at the tooth parts 15 and 16 of the reels 5 and 6, and the rotation in the feeding direction of a tape 4 of the reels 5 and 6 is regulated. The locking claws 22 and 23 of the stopper 17 are engaged at the tooth parts 15 and 16 at the intermediate position in the upper and lower directions, the engaging with the tooth parts 15 and 16 is executed without fail and the damage is prevented.
