PURPOSE:To bring the position relation of a scene which a driver sees and the positional relation of a display map on a display means into coincidence by providing a display/control means for controlling so that an advancing direction coincides with a direction of a map data displayed on the display means in response to an output of a direction detecting means. CONSTITUTION:The present position which has been detected by a position detecting means 7 is displayed by a triangle, and advances in the direction of an intersection (a). This advance direction is detected by a direction detecting means 8, a rotation display signal for displaying a map data in a state that it has been rotated by 225 deg. is outputted from a display control circuit 4, and a map data in which the advance direction is in the upper part is displayed. When an automobile turns to the right at the intersection (a) and goes to an intersection (b), the means 8 detects a fact that the advance direction is the southwest, and the map data is displayed, based on the rotation display signal of 135 degrees. In this way, a position relation of a scene which a driver sees and a display map on a display means is made to coincide. |
