The invention relates to an electrical plug socket having screwless connecting terminals which contain, for example, v-shaped leaf springs (15) with a sprung clamping limb (20) and a base limb (21), the connecting conductor (27) being clamped firmly, like a barb, between the clamping edge (29) of the clamping limb (20) and a contact plate of the clamping cage (14). The base limb (21) is considerably longer than the clamping limb (20) and forms a lever which has one lever arm (24) from the clamping edge (27) to the bearing (23). A force acts on the other lever arm (25), which force is produced during attachment of the cover (7) and is used for the purpose of reinforcing the clamping force of the clamping limb (20) in accordance with the step-up ratio of the lever system (24, 25). <IMAGE>
