The invention relates to an X-ray diagnostic device with a storage light screen (4) for latent storage of the respective X-ray picture, and with a readout device (7 to 23) with an electron beam source (16), in which the storage light screen (4) is excited pixel by pixel so that it lights up to reproduce the image, and a detector (19 to 22) for the light emitted by the storage light screen (4), which light results in a conversion of the read-out, latently stored beam image into electrical signals. The readout device (7 to 23) exhibits a light screen (8), which is excited by the emitted beam of the electron beam source (16) so that it lights up.
