PURPOSE:An agricultural and horticultural germicide, containing an N- substituted-1,2,4-triazole compound as an active ingredient and having a wide germicidal spectrum with a small amount of the chemical and penetrating and migrating controlling effect for preventing and treating. CONSTITUTION:An agricultural and horticultural germicide containing a compound expressed by the formula (R<1> is phenyl which may be substituted by halogen; R<2> is alkyl or lower cycloalkyl; n is 1 or 2) or an acid addition salt thereof as an active ingredient. The active ingredient content in the resultant formulation is 1-90% and the application amount is preferably 0.2-20g based on 1 are. The above-mentioned formulation is effective in preventing powdery mildew of wheat, treating brown leaf rust of wheat, preventing scab of apple, etc.
