In a label-suspension apparatus for suspending perforated labels (9) on clothes-hanger hooks (7) in a conveyor system which successively conveys on a conveying rod (2) the clothes-hangers hung with articles of clothing and in which the labels (9) separated from a label strip (4) are successively each brought into engagement with a clothes-hanger hook (7), an interruption is provided for the automatic suspension of the labels along the run of the conveying rod, the conveying-rod end portions (38, 39) adjacent to the said interruption overlapping one another in a vertical plane so as to leave free a clothes-hanger falling stage, and the upper end portion (38) extending downwards and having a clothes-hanger spacing device. Furthermore, a guide funnel with a longitudinal slot (42) for feeding through the clothes-hanger hooks (7) is arranged in the falling path of the hook ends (41). The conveying path (3) of a label conveyor (1) runs transversely relative to the falling stage and terminates in the vicinity of the latter. The labels (9) can be conveyed successively by the label conveyor (1) by means of their perforation (6) into the falling path of the hook ends (41) under the guide funnel (43) and can be separated from the label strip (4) by a cutting unit (8). Whenever a label (9) is present in the falling path, a clothes-hanger can be released by the spacing device. <IMAGE>
