In the case of a device (1) for receiving and providing transporting trolleys, especially shopping trolleys (2) which are equipped with vertical lattice rods, a casing (19) is situated on one of the two posts (4 or 5) forming an insertion aperture (3) and is provided in order to accommodate at least one electronic control unit (23) and one token-discharging device (24). The electronic control unit (23) and the token-discharging device (24) are arranged on a push-in device (22) which can be moved in and out of the casing (19). This measure results in easy access to the control unit (23) and the token-discharging device (24) if repairs have to be carried out or when the supply of tokens has to be replenished. <IMAGE>
