发明名称 SURFACE HARDENING METHOD FOR ENGRAVING ROLL
摘要 PURPOSE:To lengthen the service life of an engraving roll and to reduce the manufacturing cost considerably by applying an ion plating onto the surface of roll after engraving thereby forming a super hard alloy layer. CONSTITUTION:After an engraved roll 4 is arranged rotatably in a vacuum container 1, said container 1 is temporarily evacuated through a discharge hole 9 then an inert gas is led through a gas lead-in hole 10 with predetermined pressure, thereafter D.C. voltage is applied between an evaporation source 7 and the engraving roll 4 from a D.C. power source 8 with the engraving roll 4 being rotated by means of a motor 6. Consequently, glow discharge occurs in the vacuum container 1, thereby the atoms of a super hard alloy in the evaporation source 7 are ionized then accelerated by an electrical field and collide against the engraving roll 4 being held at a minus potential thus forming a super hard alloy layer having an excellent contact-tightness on the surface of the engraving roll 4. Since the engraving roll 4 is rotated continuously with a proper speed, a uniform thickness layer can be formed along the circumferential face.
