PURPOSE:To enable high-speed recording, prevent contamination due to the trailing of a molten ink or the like from occurring and ensure clear high-quality recording, by providing an ink-adhering means for adhering ink particles to an ink carrier according to a printing signal, and transferring the ink particles carried by the ink carrier onto a recording material. CONSTITUTION:When loop form belts 28, 32 are circulatively moved, a thermal head 35 is supplied with a pulse signal according to a printing signal, whereby a required heat generating part is caused to generate heat. An ink melted by the heat is adhered to the belt 32 by passing through an opening parts of the belt 28 which is a mesh form belt. The belt 32 supports thereon a required amount of ink particles in an image form, and functions as an ink carrier in an effective state for use. The thermal head 35 for melting the required in particles and adhering the ink particles to the belt 32 through a slit 29 is disposed on the inner periphery side of the belt 32 in the state of not making direct contact with the ink particles, so that the heat generating part of the head is not contaminated with the ink. Accordingly, favorable heat transfer is ensured at the heat generating part, and the dot density of the ink particles to be adhered is kept uniform. |
