PURPOSE:To obtain a multilayered color photographic sensitive material having a significant interimage effect without deteriorating other photographic characteristics by incorporating a specified compound. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of compound represented by formula I is incorporated into a silver halide emulsion layer. In the formula I, R is straight chain or branched alkylene or the like, Z is a polar substituent, Y is -S- or the like, X is -O- or the like, R'' is H or the like, M is H or the like, n=0 or 1, m=1, or 2 and l=4-m. The edges of the highly exposed and slightly exposed parts of the resulting sensitive material are made clearer and the sharpness is improved because a development retarding effect is produced from the highly exposed part to the slightly exposed part.
