PURPOSE:To obtain a network which can transmit a long-distance signal at a low cost, by providing an optical transceiver which electricity-to-light converts signals on the main line side of branched lines and optical adaptor which performs light-to-electricity conversion on a station side. CONSTITUTION:Electrical signals transmitted from a station 8 are electricity-to- light converted by an optical adaptor 7 and sent to an optical fiber 6. An optical transceiver 5 receives the signals and sends to a main line 1 after light-to- electricity conversion. In the case of reception, similarly, signals transmitted from the main line 1 are sent to the optical fiber 6 after electricity-to-light conversion by the transceiver 5 and the optical adaptor 7 sends the optical signals to the station 8 after light-to-electricity conversion. Moreover, signals from another station 8' are sent to another transceiver 3' and further to the main line 1 through a metallic system branched line 2'. In the case of reception, similarly, signals on the main line 1 are sent to the station 8' through the branched line 2' by the transceiver 3'. |
