PURPOSE:To decrease coefft. of friction by forming a rear surface layer of a film forming resin modified by a modifying agent which is the resulted product of reaction of a fluorine compd. having a reactive org. functional group and org. polyisocyanate and has at least one free isocyanate group. CONSTITUTION:This recording medium consists of a nonmagnetic base, a magnetic layer provided on one face of the base and the rear surface layer provided on the other face of the base. The rear surface layer consists of the film forming agent modified by the modifying agent which is the resulted product of reaction of the fluorine compd. having the reactive org. functional group and the org. polyisocyanate and has at least one free isocyanate group. The more particularly preferable example as the fluorine compd. having the reactive org. functional group to be used to obtain such modifying agent includes H (CF2CF2)nCH2OH (n=1-7), CF3 (CF2CF2)nCH2CH2OH (n=1-10), etc. The magnetic recording medium which has the low coefft. of friction of the rear surface layer and exhibits the excellent running characteristic is thus obtd. |
