PURPOSE:To prevent the inside of a developing device and the background of a copy from being contaminated by toner, by providing an oscillating plate which has an opening section over almost the full width of a developing tank and oscillates, below the toner supplying pipe in the developing tank. CONSTITUTION:Toner dropping from a toner supplying port 15 falls on the developing agent in the toner reservoir 6 inside a developing tank 1 while the toner is stirred up by the oscillation of an oscillating plate 14 and scattered from the opening of the plate 14. Then the toner is supplied to a developing roller 5 through a scooping up roller 8 which it is stirred up by a stirring paddle roller 7. therefore, the toner is stirred up until a desired electrified quantity is obtained and, when reaching a developing section, the density of the toner becomes almost uniform. Thus the latent image on a photosensitive drum 2 can be developed by the uniform-density toner. Therefore, contamination of the background of a copy caused by scattered toner and toner contamination of the inside of the machine can be prevented.
