PURPOSE:To simplify installation and enable a stable operation by supporting an exciter rotor bearing and an exciter stator by a common frame. CONSTITUTION:A generator portion 1 is formed into a watertight structure by means of a stator frame 2 and a top cover 3 and being in a state where its whole body is submerged in a water channel. An exciter rotor 4 is attached to an auxiliary shaft 8 driven by a main shaft 9. A bearing 6 and an exciter stator 5 are borne on a common frame 7 provided in the vicinity of an upstream end of the stator frame 2. Accordingly, the gap between the exciter stator 5 and rotor 4 suffers no change, because the mutual relation between said stator and rotor remains unchanged even by hydraulic pressure and buoyancy applied to a valve water wheel generator.
