摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the traveling performance and durability without deteriorating the electromagnetic transducing characteristics by roughening one of two surfaces of a biaxially stretched laminated film of a prescribed polyester and flattening the other so that each of the resulting rough and flat surfaces contains projections having a prescribed distribution. CONSTITUTION:A biaxially strentched laminated film is made of aromatic polyester contg. aromatic dicarboxylic acid as the principal acid component and aliphatic glycol as the principal glycol component. One of two surfaces of the film contg. inert particles has 0.010-0.025mum surface roughness and the projections has a distribution curve which does not intersect a straight line represented by a formula log10y=-9.8x+4.4 (where x is <=0.87mum height of the projections and y is the number of the projections) in the range of 2>log2y>1.3. A curve in a part larger than the maximum value of the distribution curve is within the range of log10y>=-18x+3.7. The other of two surfaces of the film is a flat surface having <0.10mum surface roughness. The height (x) in a part larger than the maximum value of the distribution curve of the projections intersects a curve represented by a formula log10y=-1.8x+3.7. The height (x) is <=0.13mum.
