The invention relates to a labelling machine, especially for the all-round labelling of articles (1) having cylindrical, especially circular-cylindrical circumferential surfaces. The articles (1) to be labelled, whilst being clamped fixedly in terms of rotation in receiving stations (8) of a turntable (9), are moved under auto-rotation past two label boxes (14, 16) arranged on the circumference of the turntable (9) and each alternately extract the upper label (27, 29) from these. For this purpose, of two respective successive articles (1), only the first article is coated with glue by means of a pulse-controllable glue-coating device (18), arranged directly in front of the first label box (14), and only the second article is coated with glue by a second glue-coating device (20) located directly in front of the second label box (16). The second label box (16), together with the associated glue-coating device (20), is positioned, in the light of the auto-rotation of the article through the receiving station (8), in such a way that the glue-coated rear edge (38) of the label extracted from the first label box (14) does not meet the front side of the label stack (24) of the second label box. A high fault-free throughput capacity is thereby achieved. <IMAGE>
