摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To prevent worsening of supercharging performance, by a method wherein, when a maximum supercharge pressure is varied through utilization of a waste gate valve according to an octane number of fuel, during control of supercharge pressure when low octane number fuel is used, actuation of the valve is corrected in a closing direction for a specified period. CONSTITUTION:In an engine having a waste gate valve V regulating a maximum supercharge pressure by causing exhaust gas to flow around a supercharger, a first supercharge pressure control means A is provided for controlling a supercharge pressure based on a maximum supercharge pressure serving as a first set value responding to high octane number fuel. Further, a second supercharge pressure control means B is provided for controlling a supercharge pressure based on a maximum supercharge pressure serving as a second set value, being lower than the first set value, responding to low octane number fuel. The control means A and B are switched for use by means of a switching means C, and during control of a supercharge pressure based on the second set value, actuation of the valve V is corrected in a closing direction by means of a correcting means D during a time in which a supercharge pressure is increased from a value in the vicinity of the second set value to the second set value.</p>
