PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a reproduced picture by compressing the time base of 2-channel signal into nearly 1/2 at every field at recording. CONSTITUTION:The 1st signal inputted from a terminal 4 and the 2nd signal inputted from a terminal 5 are subjected to time base compression at every field by time base compression circuits 13, 14, selected at every field by a switch circuit 15 and they are continuous signals. The signal is inputted from an input terminal 6 and recorded on a magnetic tape 22 via a switch circuit 16, a recording processing circuit 17, a switch circuit 18 and video heads 19, 20. Since the band of the video signal subjected to 1/2 time base compression is doubled, the cylinder is driven at double speed to record the signal having the double band. Then a field memory is used, a 2-channel signal is extended into nearly twice respectively and restored in the original signal, outputted in parallel, then no malfunction is caused. |
