SURFACE TREATMENT METHOD AND COMPOSITIONS THEREFOR

A method for treating the surfaces of solid materials by adjusting the friction coefficient of the surface for contact with a single- or multiphase medium containing water. The method essentially comprises subjecting the surface in question to a chemical/mechanical treatment involving surface texturing in the presence of a treatment composition including at least one active substance which is, in particular, capable of being grafted by chemisorption onto the surface during said chemical/mechanical treatment, and imparting particular friction properties to the surface for contact with the single- or multiphase medium containing water. The composition itself is also provided. Said method is useful for waxing skis and enhancing the friction properties of hulls, vehicle bodies and fuselages.
