PURPOSE:To supply optimum accelerating fuel corresponding to both quick acceleration and slow one by detecting an accelerating state in consideration of even values corresponding to a suction air quantity and engine temperature as correction values in controlling the fuel discharged by the accelerating pump of a carburetor. CONSTITUTION:A carburetor 7 is provided with air bleed control valves 21, 22 for controlling air-fuel ratio and an auxiliary fuel pump 29 for supplying accelerating fuel, which are controlled by a control device 54. In accelerating an engine, the said control device 54 controls the auxiliary fuel pump 29 to supply optimum accelerating fuel according to an alteration in negative pressure 45 in a suction pipe and a throttle valve opening 16. In this case, the optimum accelerating fuel is computed according to a computed suction air quantity, an suction air temperature 44, and an engine temperature 39, and then the function of the auxiliary fuel pump 29 is controlled in consideration of the said optimum accelerating fuel.
