摘要 PURPOSE:To contrive enhancement of developed color density, color forming sensitivity and ground brightness, by jointly using a specified ether compound as an auxiliary constituent. CONSTITUTION:An ether compound of formula (I), wherein R is a straight chain, branched or cyclic bivalent hydrocarbon group and n is 1 or 2, is jointly used as an auxiliary constituent, in a thermal recording material utilizing a color forming reaction between a leuco dye and a color developer. The ether compound of formula (I) has a high capability of dissolving widely used color developers and leuco dyes when being heated, and a thermal recording material with an arbitrary sensitivity can be obtained by controlling the melting point of the ether compound jointly used. From the viewpoints of preservation stability and sensitivity of the thermal recording material, it is preferable that the ether compound used has a melting point of 40-150 deg.C, particularly, 50-120 deg.C.
