Electrostatic filter esp. for removing dust from the atmos., and with a number of similar units operating in parallel, produces the necessary high direct voltage for the filters from power initially applied to a high voltage transformer whose AC output is fed to a rectifier. From the main rectifier, current is directed into multiple conductors, esp. semi-conductor rectifiers, all feeding current in the same direction, so that discharge of potential due to sparking in one of the filter units will not cause discharge from the remaining filters. The semiconductor rectifiers pref. have diodes becoming conductive in alternate half-cycles.
