PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent cleaning effect by applying an AC bias voltage to at least one of a brush roll and a recovery roll. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning device 20 is provided to face a photosensitive drum 10, and the length of the housing of the device 20 is made approximately equal to that of the drum 10, and the device 20 is attached in an electronic device so that its aperture part faces the drum 10. A brush roll 30 which removes an untransferred toner remaining on the surface of the drum 10 is provided near the aperture part of the housing 22, and many conductive fibers are blocked on the surface of the roll 30. The roll 30 is rotated in the direction of an arrow 2 while having front ends of fibers brought into contact with the surface of the drum 10, and the roll 30 is connected to a DC bias power source E1 having the same polarity as the surface potential of the drum 10, and the bias voltage is applied to the roll 30. An AC bias voltage power source E3 is connected between a recovery roll 40 and a DC bias voltage power source E2. It is preferable that the AC bias voltage of the power source E3 is 100-600V. |
