PURPOSE:To produce flaked alloy powder having a large aspect ratio by pulverizing Fe-Si-Al alloy powder formed by a water spraying method at a high energy density. CONSTITUTION:A melt consisting, by weight %, 7-11% Si, 5-7% Al and the balance Fe is cooled at >=10<3> deg.C/sec solidifying rate of molten drops by the water spraying method to prepare the polycrystalline powder having <=100mum crystalline particles. Such powder is pulverized by a grinding mill having the high energy density at an ordinary temp. The flaked Fe-Si-Al alloy powder having >=10 aspect ratio is obtd. by the above-mentioned method. The alloy powder is adequate as a magnetic shielding material for a magnetic card, etc.
